I usually leave my thoughts and opinions on a tea until halfway through the review… but I’m breaking that rule today. Kusmi Strawberry Green Tea is absolutely divine and I just can’t wait to tell you all about it.
It’s a loose leaf blend, but that shouldn’t put you off. Just pick up a stainless-steel infuser from Amazon or buy one from Kusmi directly if you’re shopping on their website. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
If the idea of a cup of tea that tastes like strawberries and cream appeals to you, you’re in for a real treat today.

Opening up the tin (be careful not to spill it everywhere as it’s tightly packed) you can’t help but breathe deeply as the aroma of juicy tinned strawberries and sugary strawberry jam hit your nose. There’s also a slight hint of grassy green tea beneath the strawberry deluge.
It brews into a clear, thick-textured tea, the pale green colour of a high-quality green tea.
And yes, the strawberry aroma is heading towards artificial, but it’s not overpowering and for that I’m grateful.
The taste. Oh, lord. The taste. It’s exceptionally smooth with warm hay notes typical of a Chinese green tea. The mouthfeel is creamy and thick with lingering strawberry notes. They’re subtle, however, and blend in with the green tea rather than standing out sorely. The result is a tea that’s creamy, sweet and mouth-watering.
You’ll be rolling the aftertaste around your mouth for several long beats after swallowing. If there was ever a tea that tasted like strawberries and cream, it’s this one. And there’s no artificial cream or milk flavouring added!
How to Brew Green Tea and Strawberry
It’s important to brew Kusmi Strawberry Green tea at 80°C rather than boiling, or you’ll lose the mellow and creamy notes for more astringent green tea qualities. This isn’t a herbal berry tea. I brewed a generous teaspoon for a full 3 minutes, but I could have brewed longer for a more intense flavour.
This tea lends itself very well to cold brew methods as well, although you lose that thick and creamy texture a little by drinking it cold rather than hot. Add a few slices of real strawberry and perhaps a few mint leaves and you’re onto a winning summer iced tea recipe.
Why Kusmi Loose Leaf Tea?
I enjoyed Kusmi’s tea advent calendar in 2019 and fell in love with the quality of this brand. Sure, it’s not whole leaf, and yes, I know the strawberry is added flavouring rather than real fruit pieces… but you can’t deny that it’s masterfully blended to create a delicious tea.
The taste is top quality and that really says it all.
Furthermore, you can buy refill packets for your 20g Kusmi loose leaf tea tin instead of wastefully rebuying a metal tin every time you run out. I always appreciate eco-conscious packaging.
I’ve purchased Kusmi teas through their official website and Amazon before. Amazon arrives quicker and has free shipping, but if you buy from Kusmi and don’t mind paying for a longer delivery time then you’ll be rewarded with a free tea sample.
